May15

gunBy Shannon McDonald

Richard Pearson, 40 and a father of four, was parking his car outside his home on the 1100-block of Overington Street in Frankford when he was killed.

Pearson’s family watched as a man walked up and opened fire, shooting their husband and father in the chest and killing him immediately. The gunman fled, and no one else was hurt.  The family was relatively new to the block, though neighbors say Pearson seemed courteous.

The motive and suspect have not been identified; homicide detecives are still investigating the case.
