The National Greyhound Adoption Program has a new home in the Northeast. The 100,000 square foot facility is on Dutton Road off Comly near Normandy and the airport.

Calming music is played in rooms of spacious cages and cushioned beds, according to a report by KYW, and there are four large dog runs for the animals.

The nonprofit adoption program was founded informally in the early 1990s by David Wolf, before expanding to a storefront clinic in 1992 and continuing to grow from there. NGAP’s clinic performs more than 2,000 greyhound procedures using anesthesia per year, which the group says is more than any other facility in the country. NGAP was last based in Bridesburg, KYW reported.
