An early morning car accident turned into an assault on Frankford Avenue in Mayfair.

Police say a 20-year-old man lost control of his vehicle on the 7500-block of Frankford Avenue around 1:30 this morning, and crashed onto the sidewalk. He was then pulled out of the vehicle by an unidentified person and was assaulted, sustaining injuries to his head.

The crash and assault are still being investigated. No word on whether either is related to the Phillies Celebration at Cottman and Frankford.
