On the North Catholic side of the field, Sunday, the stands were full of red and white -- the school's colors. Shane Killion, a student at North, seen here with his girlfriend, Sophia Santiago, both of Lawncrest, was wearing his colors, which just also just happen to be the colors of the NL Champion Philadelphia Phillies.

Quite the balancing act, literally and figuratively. Alexandra (Alex) Szydlik (above) spent much of the day both
setting up (cups of water and Gatorade for the players) and picking up the empties. Alex’s dad is
a North Catholic coach and her grandfather, Charlie Szydlik is the head coach. It’s a family affair;
you’ll always find the Szydlik family members – young and older – in the stands cheering on their team.
Great to take in a good, hard-hitting high school game on a sunny afternoon. I’ll miss my infrequent outings to the North games in the future!!!
