A 50-year-old woman was beaten and raped yesterday in her home on Torresdale Avenue near St. Hubert’s High School.

The victim, who is blind, was attacked by one or two men as she tried to enter her home late Sunday afternoon. The men fled after the attack, but not before ransacking the woman’s home. Passersby called police when she came out of the house a short time later.

Police said they hope video surveillance from the Bleigh Street Pub on the corner will provide leads in their search for suspects.
