Crime Scene (police line tape)1The delivery man for Sam’s Pizza in Frankford was shot Saturday during a hold-up.

The victim was sitting in a booth at the shop on the 5400-block of Rutland Street when a man wearing a ski mask came in and demanded money from the cashier. In response, the deliveryman swung a trashcan at the suspect, who then opened fire, striking the victim in the chest, stomach, arms and legs.

Police said they hope video surveillance will help catch the shooter. He is described as a black male, dressed in black, wearing a black and orange ski mask. He fled south on Rutland Street after the shooting. The victim in in critical condition at Aria Health-Torresdale.

    It’s not really Frankford, is it? More like Oxford Circle.

    Since the address is east of the actual “Oxford Circle” at the Boulevard, the neighborhood still qualifies as Frankford — but thanks for looking out!

    Cheltenham Avenue is the border for 19124 and 19149 and Sam’s is on the 19124 side.
