On Tuesday, the Philadelphia City Council held a hearing to learn more information on the death of 63-year-old Joaquin Rivera, who died last November in the E.R. waiting room of Aria Health-Frankford. Rivera, having been told to wait, sat and died over an hour later. A few minutes after, camera caught three men robbing him. In turn, the hospital is defending its handling of the situation.

Joseph Walczak, 72, who survived the Oct. 4, 2007 Loomis armored van crew robbery and shooting at a Wachovia Bank branch at Bustleton and Bleigh avenues, has testified about the robbery that left his partners dead. Walczak remained inside the armored car when he heard Mustafa Ali, 38, shoot the van and his partners, Joseph Alullo, 54, of Levittown, and William Widmaier, 65, of Fairless Hills. Both men died at the scene.
Colleen and Matt, a couple competing in Philly.com’s “Love of a Lifetime Wedding Giveaway,” met as children at Holmesburg Library. They’re asking people to vote for them in a contest that will provide the winning couple with a wedding, dress, cake, entertainment and more.
