The meeting will be held by State Sen. Michael Stack to discuss his bill that would increase from one to five years in prison the mandatory-minimum sentence for someone who fled the scene of a deadly accident. Stack will also try to gain support for his bill that would allow for a “Peter Roberto Alert System.” 12-year-old Roberto was killed by William Halloran on Thanksgiving 2004.

  • On a ski trip at the Elk Mountain Ski Resort in Union Dale, PA, 57 students from Calvary Christian Academy were stranded when one of their buses skidded off Route 374 into a ditch. The group was on its way back to their lodge, 20 miles away. The roads proved too dangerous to go on, so once help arrived to pull the bus out of the ditch, PennDot plow trucks cleared the way for the buses to travel to the town of Union Dale.
