I think the neighbors and the Mayfair Civic Association made the right decision. We do not need another bar on Frankford Avenue. There are more than enough now. And, some of the current ones are good.

I agree and disagree with Tim

I agree that the Civic made the right and only choice here, and that was to side with the neighbors. Big time PROPS to the residents for banding together and fighting for their community, and PROPS to the Civic for listening!

Where we disagree though is the direction of Frankford ave. I’d MUCH rather see it lined up with bars and restaurants similar to New Orleans or Key West rather than continue to see the current trend of Cash for Gold, Nail Salons, hokey Church’s, Daycares, Bodega type stores, and Dollar stores. Those types of places are inviting more trouble into Mayfair than a new bar would.

  4. Donny says:

WOW Pete I never realized that before! I knew it looked familiar … ha ha !!
I wonder if the gold stripe that Paddy’s uses in the middle and Guinness doesn’t is enough of a difference? Other than that – you’re absolutely right. It’s identical, and Guinness does have it registered.
