Rent dispute at Albert's leads to protest 3

Jul16

AlbertsCafe

Protesters gathered outside Albert’s Cafe Wednesday night following the shut down of the adjoining House of Blaze LGBT club.

The July 3 shut down came after a months-long feud between Albert’s owner Abert Buoncristiano and Blaze Walters, who owns the second-floor establishment, House of Blaze at the property on the 3100-block of Grant Avenue.

Walters told the Philadelphia Gay News Buoncristiano has been raising and charging extra for utilities, despite the February 2008 agreement of $2,000/month rent.

Buoncristiano has not commented, but Walters said if an agreement cannot be reached, he’ll consider moving his establishment.

Albert’s cafe is the half that should be shut down…….the place is filthy with mouse droppings and the so-called $5.00 specials…..were HORRIBLE.

This is REDICULOUS. The reason “Blaze” got kicked out is because he didnt pay his rent. WHEN YOU DONT PAY YOUR RENT YOU GET KICKED OUT!!! The reason the rent was raised at all was because “blaze” abd his buddies decided to leave the air conditioner on 24-7 causing alberts bill to sky rocket. I know albert personally and he is there is not a prejudice bone in his body. He DOES NOT CAR IF YOU ARE GAY. You need to pay your rent. I was there for the whole thing. There are two sides to EVERY story. BY THE WAY……Everybody seems to forget that Albert’s head waitress IS GAY!!!! there goes your arguement. This is getting way out of hand. I have pitty on those that break the rules and when it is time to pay the piper they scream dicrimination. You really make me sick!
