Friday – Escaped murderer Omar Roane was captured Friday night. Roane, who broke free from the back of a prisoner transport van last weekend at Frankford and Cottman avenues, was found in Harrisburg.

U.S. Marshals found Roane in a house around 10:30 p.m., and he was taken into custody. Authorities indicated the information can from sources which did not require the $5,000 reward offered last week.

Saturday — The city marked its 200th murder of 2010 Saturday, following the death of a 34-year-old man at 13th Street and Wyoming Avenue in North Philadelphia.
