Residents at Wesley Enhanced Living got a little silly this summer.
The residents, who span WEL’s continuing care retirement facilities in Pennypack Park, Burholme, Doylestown and Upper Moreland, made more than 200 handmade sock puppets to be donated to Clowns Without Borders, a nonprofit that works to relieve suffering for people experiencing crises.

Earlier this month, Gwen Ro0ker, a Philadelphia-based CWB volunteer, stopped by WEL’s Burholme residence to accept the donation. These particular puppets will be given to Sudanese refugee children living in Cairo, Egypt, whom Rooker has visited with before.
