Rhawnhurst couple Herbert and Catherine Schaible have been sentenced to 10 years’ probation for the January 2009 death of their 2-year-old son Kent.

The couple was charged in December with involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment for praying their son would recover from an illness rather than seek medical treatment.As part of their sentence the Schaibles will have to seek regular medical checkups for their other seven children, and release those records to probation officers.

The couple belongs to First Century Gospel Church in Juniata.
