Photo: Special honor for new Eagle Scout 0

Eagle Scout Andrew Stockette celebrates with (L to R) SPIN founder David Lossino, SPIN community affairs director Bernice McHale and his occupational therapist Beth Konde.

Andrew Stockette was recently awarded with a very distinguished honor. The 18-year-old earned a spot in the Eagle Scout Court of Honor Saturday — something only about 3 percent of Boy Scouts achieve.

The honor was especially rewarding for Stockette, who has Asperger’s Syndrome. He celebrated the achievement with his parents, Maureen McDowell-Stockette and Joe Stockette, who’s also his son’s BSA Troop 111 leader.

Joining Stockette for the celebration at the Norcom Community Center were David Lossino, founder of Special People in the Northeast; Bernice McHale, director of community affairs at SPIN; and Beth Konde, Stockette’s occupational therapist since he was a child.
