After a back-and-forth between the Streets Department and Water Department and help from Fox29, a large sinkhole on the 2200-block of Friendship Street is set to be filled.

The Streets Department tells Fox it will fix the hole this week, which, after months of neglect, has grown to be several feet wide and two feet deep.

I don’t know what the Streets Dept has been doing, but it certainly hasn’t been looking like they’ve been doing anything in the way of repairs! This city is disgusting when it comes to what these “workers” get paid for doing nothing!

I live on this street and this has been going on for months!!! The water department came out, the gas department came out and the streets department. Everytime one of these so called workers came out they would walk around the hole scratch their asses and put cones around it then leave. It’s nice to know our hard earned tax dollars are paying for these “men” to even have jobs in the first place. I guarantee if this mess was on their street it would have been fixed awhile ago. Especially if they had children who could fall inside and get seriously injured.

Don’t blame the little guy, the workers who come to do a job. Blame all those big shots who sit around City Hall, MSB etc. making big bucks doing nothing. They are the ones who make the decisions to make the repairs. Problem is they have no idea what they are doing.
