A fundraising event a couple years in the making will culminate later this month when Mayfair residents come together to rebuild Mayfair Memorial Playground.

After teaming up with KaBOOM!, getting business sponsorships and working with the School District of Philadelphia to secure the sight, the Mayfair Civic Association is now looking for volunteers to help with the build.

By the end of the day Oct. 27, the space at Rowland Avenue and Vista Street on Lincoln High School’s property will have a playground on it with the help of volunteers for build day and/or a prep day on Oct. 25.

Anyone looking to help must RSVP. You can do that in three ways:

Call Anna at 215-435-2506

Call Donna at 215-331-0209

Email mayfairmemorialplayground AT yahoo.com

The build is set for 8 a.m., and all volunteers will be served breakfast and lunch. Anyone can bring non-perishable food items on build day to donate to the Holmesburg King’s Kitchen and Philabundance.
