Kevin Boyle announces re-election bid for 172nd District seat 3

Jan18

Just a year after taking state office, Rep. Kevin Boyle has announced his re-election bid for the 172nd District seat.

“Despite being in office only a year, I promised and delivered on many of my 2010 campaign issues,” the Fox Chase resident said. “The Fox Chase Cancer Center is here to stay and not moving, and just announced a promising merger with Temple University; the Mayfair Community Center is alive and well;  the City of Philadelphia has announced the creation of a blight court to combat negligent landlords; and my office has serviced nearly 10,000 constituents looking for help in this challenging economy.”
Boyle took office last January after defeating incumbent Republican John Perzel in the November 2012 election. Perzel awaits sentencing for his guilty plea in a scandal that involved using taxpayer dollars to fund re-election efforts.
As for goals looking forward, Boyle cited the need for more high-performing schools and pledged to continue the fight against a methadone clinic proposed for Frankford Avenue in Holmesburg.

The merger between Temple and Fox Chase has been in the works prior to the election.

Can any statistics be provided on the effectiveness of the anti-blight campaign and outcomes of the “nearly 10,000 constituents looking for help in this challenging economy.”

It seems more of year spent coat-tailing initiatives and mergers already in place.
