They live in Frankford; Northwood; Mayfair; Wissinoming; Lawncrest; and Tacony, and they’re 11 of the Philadelphia Police Department’s most-wanted violent offenders.

The department released a video slideshow Tuesday of the city’s 100 most-wanted violent felons who have outstanding warrants, and will run the images on Channel 64, Philadelphia’s public access TV station, in an effort to solicit tips.

What has happened to good old NE Philly. I have always proudly proclaimed my life long residency of “greater” NE (including the adjoining suburban townships) including Frankford, Feltonville, Juniata Park, Bensalem, Castor Gardens and Huntingdon Valley. I retired from the “Navy Depot” in Lawncrest.

NE Philly was known for its 10′s of thousands of law abiding, tax paying , middle class families living in row houses , twins and a few singles. We quietly supported the city with oodles of real estate tax, wage tax, and on-time payments to PGW & WRB. But not a drop of that tax money came back to our community for museums, and only a few crumbs for our giant park that depends on volunteers. Can the decline of NE Philly be stopped and turned around?

Thank Rendell for spreading Section 8 all over the city. Now the slobs who don’t own homes, don’t care about hurting those who do.

I think it has more to do with a decline of the middle class in the US. There are “have” and “have nots.” With poverty comes a decrease in education and an increase in crime. NE Philly, which was always middle class, is feeling the results.
