A surveillance camera and burglary alarm may prove helpful to the 7th District Police as the officers look for the suspects wanted in connection with a break-in Monday.

Two males were seen on video scaling a privacy fence in the back of a home on the 9200-block of Masland Street in Bustleton around 6 p.m. Monday. But when the burglary alarm went off when they broke through the door, both suspects fled.

The suspects are described as black males in the 20s wearing dark-colored clothing. A third suspect in a white van may also be involved. The suspects are thought to be responsible for other burglaries in the area.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call 215-686-3153 or submit a tip online.

The 7th District sent out the following alert Wednesday morning:

On Tuesday evening, 4/24/12, between the hours of 6pm and 8pm, the 7th District experienced three burglaries within PSA 2. We are currently looking for a white van for investigation with those burglaries. The van was very distinctive that it had 2 barn type doors on the passenger side with windows on each door, The drivers side had no doors or windows. There may have been some sort of cleaning emblem on the van. A witness stated that he saw a white van with the partial wording of :Clean for you  on the side of the van in red letters, and a phone number beginning with a 610 area code. If you see this van, ou are asked to call police immdeiatley with it’s location. DO NOT TAKE ANY ACTION!!  Call 911

I hope they catch these bastards. There was an attempted break-in at my house on Monday night in the same area. I know robberies happen anywhere but it changes how safe you feel in your own home anymore.

Masland Street is densely populated and it was 6 p.m. on a Monday night. Somebody had to see something. You have three guys in hoodies hanging around one house talking on cell phones and a white van circling the block 10 times. I rarely see a crime these days by people NOT wearing hoodies. #callthecops
