This adorably, chubby girl is named Florence (A16184105), Flo for short! Flo is a 5- to 6-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who came to the shelter as a stray after being found wandering around Philadelphia all by her lonesome.
It appears as though she’s been living outdoors for some time, since she came to the shelter on the dirtier side, but does appear to have lived in a home not too long ago.
Flo is well socialized and has great manners. She walks very well on the leash, and even appears to be housebroken. She knows not to jump up on her friends in order to say hello, and instead will rest her head in your lap or climb up on the chair next to you for attention.
Adopted so far
Flo gives great hugs and has no issues with basic or advanced handling. Flo is in great shape for her age, despite having to lose a couple pounds. She weighs roughly 57 pounds. Flo appears to have had some pups in the past, but luckily she no longer has to worry about being a mama again, as she will be spayed before going to her forever home.
Flo hasn’t shown any attention to the cats here at the shelter, but should have another test done before being placed with them. Just let the shelter staff know if you have cats at home. Flo lights up and bounces around when she sees her doggie friends! She would likely do well in a home with other lower-key dogs like herself. Have resident dogs at home? Please bring them on down to the shelter to meet her and they will let you know if they’d like to live together.
This adorable, easy-peasy, affectionate girl would make a great companion or family dog. Please consider fostering or adopting her!
