More than 8o percent of homes in Parkwood are owner-occupied. In Lexington Park, it’s 60 percent to 70 percent. And across Wissinoming and Tacony, 50 percent to 60 percent of homes are owner-occupied.

The data come from the Philadelphia Public Interest Information Network, which evaluated the rate of owner-occupied homes across the city.

PPIIN’s interactive map shows the breakdown by Census tract. Six pockets of Northeast Philadelphia have owner-occupancy rates between 40 percent and 50 percent, and even fewer areas have a rate of less than 40 percent.

The numbers are highest in the Far Northeast, where neighborhoods like Somerton, Bustleton and Torresdale see the most stability. Of the areas with low owner-occupancy rates, Frankford is the only full neighborhood, with a rate of 46 percent.

Only parts of Northwest Philadelphia have similarly high owner-occupancy rates.
