With a new zoning code an evolving district plans, there’s a lot of change happening in Philadelphia.

And just like the public had a chance to suggest ideas and comment on draft plans for the code and district plans, so too will they get to their voice their opinion on the Complete Streets Design Handbook.

“Complete Streets uses a variety of design measures and policies to make streets safer and more accessible for all types of transportation: pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and public transit users,” according to the Mayor’s Office of Transportation and Utilities, which has released the handbook for public comment.

City agencies will be able to use the handbook as a guide for street redesign and reconstruction, and neighborhood organizations can use it to identify improvement practices for specific areas.
