We’ve partnered with Philly Love Notes to make sure you see all the love notes written about Northeast Philadelphia. Love notes about Northeast spots will be published here after they appear on the Philly Love Notes blog, curated by Emma Fried-Cassorla. Anyone can email love notes to phillylovenotes [AT] gmail.com and coordinate their photo opps with Fried-Cassorla. The first love note comes from NEast Philly Editor Shannon McDonald.

You can find me in the park. Pennypack Park. Off the trail nestled between Winchester Park and Holmesburg, tucked neatly under Rhawn Street. A guy pretending to be Bob Seeger is singing “Against the Wind,” I’m drinking beer from a plastic cup* and my friends are on the blanket beside me, in various stages of relaxation. The sun is going down over Northeast Philadelphia and kids sell glo-stics to raise money for the next concert, someone pretending to be Tina Turner. It’s a Wednesday night in the summer – Pennypack Park concert nights – and there’s no place I’d rather be.

This post originally appeared on Philly Love Notes on June 22.

*Editor’s note: Alcohol is forbidden in Pennypack Park.
