NEast Philly Comment Policy

NEast Philly values its readers and their opinions. For that reason, we’ve set up comment guidelines to ensure our readers’ thoughts are presented in the most insightful manner possible.

This policy is not meant to squelch creativity, suppress opinions nor discriminate against any particular religious, political, ethnic, etc. view. Rather, it is a way to make the most of reader-staff interaction.

If your comment meets any of the following criteria, NEast Philly reserves the right to remove it at our discretion:

• Excessive profanity or obscenities
• Offensive language targeted at a particular person, business or community organization
• Harsh language or violent threats against any/all person or group associated with a particular religion, race, ethnic group, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, etc.
• Any sentiment that proves harmful or detrimental to a person or group
• Any advertisement/endorsement for any individual, group, organization or business

If your comment is removed per the terms of this policy, it’s not to say NEast Philly does not value your opinion. We simply ask that you express it in a respectful manner.

Comments will not be removed unless deemed necessary by a NEast Philly editor. Requests from readers to remove comments may be addressed, but said comments will only be removed if an editor determines they meet the above criteria. Comments will not be removed simply for the expression of negative thoughts.

Readers who try to post multiple offensive comments may be banned from commenting on NEast Philly stories.

The aforementioned criteria applies to NEast Philly, as well as its related social networking sites, including our Facebook page.
