WHO WE ARE

NEast Philly focuses on the heart and soul of Philadelphia – the Northeast. Our city’s hardworking middle-class people need their own source for daily news about their community. On NEast Philly, every story, profile and photo is directly related to Northeast Philadelphia and the people who live and work here.

You can read more about us here.

WHAT WE DO

Regular sections of NEast Philly include smaller news stories like crime and real estate transactions, and longer items like Q&As, profiles and features. In addition, we have four regular columns: The Parent Trap, Real NEastate, Food for Thought and A Woman’s View.

Unlike other Philadelphia publications, NEast Philly focuses on a specific region, digging deep into the issues that matter. Local news broadcasts will spend one minute discussing the affects of the budget cuts on all of Philadelphia, but NEast Philly will give its readers 2,500 words on how the cuts are hitting home in the Northeast. We give our readers a complete view of their world.

WHEN WE DO IT

NEast Philly updates multiple times a day, providing readers with free news content and features. Columns typically run at 9 a.m., unless there is a breaking news story. Features and other news stories are published in the late morning and early afternoon hours. There is new content at least twice a day from Monday through Friday. Weekend posts are limited to major, breaking news.

NEast Magazine

About NEast | Demographics | Support Us | NEast magazine

In Spring 2010, NEast Philly plans to launch NEast, a glossy print magazine to be sold in various locations around the region. The magazine will include trend pieces and feature-lenght stories, in addition to regular web favorites. NEast will come out four times a year, with content tailored to the appropriate season.

Northeast Philadelphia is home to the city’s hard-working, middle-class, union employees. They are not sitting at desks all day, scrolling through their favorite sites. Northeast Philadelphia is still a print-heavy audience. While NEastPhilly.com will help brand the NEast name, it will be a supplement to the magazine.
