Two strange things happened Nov. 16. First, a man opened fire on three women in a car on Roosevelt Boulevard near Harbison Ave. Luckily no one was hurt.
The second strange thing happened hours later inside the Philly.com building. The breaking news desk reported the shooting took place at the “Roosevelt Boulevard and Harbison Avenue intersection, which is next to Lincoln Highway.” continue reading »

The 4600-block of Adams Avenue. It’s relativel leafy, runs parallel to Greenwood Cemetery and is roughly three blocks from Northwood Park. And oh yeah, it’s on the Northeast side of the  Frankford/Tookany Creek.

Nearly two dozen animals were removed from a Wissinoming home last week and their owners were charged with animal cruelty.
It’s not a headline anyone wants to see, but CBS3 added insult to injury when it mis-reported the neighborhood. Though the 4300-block of Benner Street is blocks below the official Wissinoming/Mayfair border of Robbins Street, and off the beaten path of Frankford Avenue that the Mayfair Civic Association lays claim to, the station seemingly didn’t bother to properly identify the location, letting Mayfair take the fall. continue reading »
Here we go again.
Imagine waking up to the headline, “Oxford Circle Teen Stabbed.” Anyone who wakes up with NBC10 doesn’t have to imagine it. While Action News and Philly.com both managed to read their maps properly, NBC10 dished out misinformation in a Tuesday morning crime report.
A teenager stabbed on the 1200-block of Pratt Street in Frankford Tuesday morning. Yes, that block is near Oxford Avenue, which we’re guessing is where NBC10 went wrong. continue reading »
A few things raised our eyebrows about the South Jersey Media Group’s report on Philadelphia water main breaks.
First and foremost, why in the world would New Jerseyans care about such things?
An item that ran Wednesday on the company’s website about a Kensington water main break has seemingly no connection to New Jersey. And because we can’t logically expect N.J. media to be aware of Philadelphia neighborhoods, the report says the break on the 3500-block of Stouton Street happened in Northeast Philadelphia. continue reading »
