Friday - Police continue their search for the masked suspects who killed a Tacony storeowner during an armed robbery Friday. Xiang Huang, 27, was shot inside Jin House, the Chinese store and takeout restaurant he owned with wife Jin Huang at Longshore Avenue and Tulip Street. Xiang was killed in front of his wife and baby daughter, and also leaves behind two other young daughters.

Friday – A 74-year-old woman died Friday morning after being struck by a car in Holmesburg.

The woman was crossing Frankford  Avenue traffic on the 7700-block where she was picking up a rental car when she was struck. Authorities are trying to determine if the driver, who stopped, will be charged. continue reading »

Friday – Police have some questions for a man found in Frankford Friday night with firearms and grenades, according to a West Frankford Town Watch alert. Responders arrived on the 1300-block of Harrison Street for a fire alarm call when they found a suspicious man and discovered the weapons. Friday – A man was pronounced dead at Aria Health-Torresdale after his body was dumped from a car near a Tacony cemetery Friday. The 41-year-old may have died of a drug overdose, and was found along the 6400-block of Cottage Street by Magnolia Cemetery around 4 p.m. Police later arrested the driver.

Police have charged a Somerton chiropractor with with indecently assaulting a 69-year-old female patient. Christopher Walcott, 43, is accused of assaulting the woman during a massage he was giving her at Advanced Wellness Center of Pennsylvania on the 14000-block of Bustleton Avenue. continue reading »

UPDATE – The property at the center of Saturday’s shooting in Mayfair, as well as other neighboring properties, has been brought to the attention of the city and state and municipal politicians. These properties have a history of complaints against them. We’ll have more information for you as the story develops.

Saturday – A man was found shot in Mayfair early Saturday morning on the 6300-block of Frankford Avenue. According to reports and accounts from neighbors, the man was shot multiple times in a home on the 3100-block of Levick Street. Friday – Lifeguards came to the rescue Friday night in Torresdale, where a young girl nearly drowned. Two lifeguards at the Torresdale Boys Club pool on Linden Avenue pulled the 4-year-old from the water when one noticed her struggling. The girl was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale in stable condition after one of the lifeguards performed CPR. continue reading »

Friday – Authorities are investigating the shooting of a man by police early Friday morning in an incident that began outside Aria Health-Frankford. Reports say officers witnessed a car drop off two gunshot victims at the hospital, and the officers decided to follow the car.
