The first in a series of monthly Burglary Seminar/Luncheons hosted by the 8th PDAC was a huge success on Monday at Cannstatter’s Volksfest-Verein, with a combination of 65 residents and businesses in attendance.
Unfortunately, because of the overwhelming response and financial restrictions, the acceptance of additional reservations had to be discontinued a week prior to the event. continue reading »

The process was simple: reporters from the Daily News went to each of the 21 police districts in the city and asked to file and anonymous complaint — as is the department’s policy.

We received this e-mail from 7th District Capt. Joseph Zaffino, detailing thefts in the area mentioned below:
Residents who live in the area boundaried by Bustleton Avenue to Worthington Road and Byberry Road to Napier Street, be advised there have been 3 thefts from inside of vehicles. Be alert and call 911 if suspicious activity is observed. I am reminding all residents DO NOT leave valuables in your vehicles. You are at risk of becoming a victim if you do not follow this advice. DO NOT TAKE ACTION if you observe a crime. Be a good witness by calling 911.”

Three men have been arrested in connection with overnight robberies at three Wawas in the area.
Around 1:15 this morning, a man with a gun entered the Wawa at Rhawn Street and Roosevelt Boulevard in Rhawnhurst demanding money. Just minutes later, the Castor Gardens Wawa on the 6400-block of Bustleton Avenue by a man who took off in a car with four other people. continue reading »
