Aria Health-Torresdale celebrated a groundbreaking Monday for an extension to its emergency facility.

A 15-month-old child is recovering after falling from an apartment complex window Thursday. The toddler fell from a third-floor window on the 2300- block of Tremont Street and landed in a flower bed, ultimately being taken to Aria Health-Torresdale in good condition [Action News].
A police officers sustained minor injuries Monday night when he became pinned between two cars during an accident on the 1700-block of Cottman Avenue. The officer was treated at Jeanes Hospital and authorities are investigating the incident [Philly.com].
Two other officers were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning when their van flipped during a crash with another vehicle around 8:30 in Wissinoming. It’s not clear what caused the crash, which also sent two civilians to the hospital [CBS3].
A Mayfair Town Watch member had his tires slashed this morning on the 4000-block of Aldine Street. This latest incident is one in a string that’d damaged more than 30 cars [CBS3].

Three people were injured Wednesday morning in a Morrell Park fire. It took firefighters 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze on the 3200-block of Cromwell Road, and three residents – including a toddler – were taken to Aria Health-Torresdale for smoke inhalation [CBS3].

The Mayfair car vandals struck again over night, this time letting the air out of tires on the 4000-blocks on Aldine and Teesedale streets. This time, a neighbor got a glimpse of the suspects [Fox29].
No injuries were reported Monday afternoon when a driver’s truck hit a pole and knocked down wires in Wissinoming. It’s not clear how the accident occurred [Action News].

Friday – A 74-year-old woman died Friday morning after being struck by a car in Holmesburg.
The woman was crossing Frankford Avenue traffic on the 7700-block where she was picking up a rental car when she was struck. Authorities are trying to determine if the driver, who stopped, will be charged. continue reading »

Two people were injured early Sunday morning when a driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a Bells Corner storefront.
The men, both in their 20s, were taken to Aria Health-Torresdale for injuries they sustained when their vehicle hit the store around 2:30 a.m. along the 8300-block of Bustleton Avenue. One man was in critical the condition, the other was stable. Police are still investigating the exact cause of the crash.

An inmate at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility died last night after a stabbing incident inside the Holmesburg prison.

Two men – one from Olney, one from Port Richmond — face charges for the Friday night incident that resulted in an 8th District officer getting struck and dragged by a car.
Mark Kelly, 38, of the 5900-block of B Street and William Gray, 38, of the 3200-block of Mercer Street were arrested Friday on the 4100-block of Carteret Street, and have been charged with robbery, theft, aggravated assault, simple assault, kidnapping, impersonating a police officer, burglary and criminal conspiracy. continue reading »

Reports say officers witnessed a car drop off two gunshot victims at the hospital, and the officers decided to follow the car.
