Police in Northeast Philadelphia are looking for two different suspects wanted for bank robberies this month.

The most recent robbery took place Saturday in the 8th District at the Bank of America at 2439 Welsh Rd.  The suspect, also thought to be the man who robbed a Bridesburg bank earlier this month, fled without money after handing the teller a demand note. continue reading »

Philadelphia Police and the FBI are on the hunt for a man suspected of robbing two Northeast banks March 20.

At 10:08 a.m., a man entered the Bank of America at 6425 Rising Sun Ave. and gave the teller a threatening note. He fled without cash, but at 10:43 a.m., entered the Citizens Bank at 7327 Frankford Ave. and was able to get an undisclosed amount of cash. He fled south on Frankford Avenue. continue reading »

Fresh off a bank robbery in Mayfair last week, police in the 15th District are now looking the man who robbed a Frankford Wells Fargo.

Monday, the suspect entered the bank at 5119 Frankford Ave. around 5 p.m. and used a threatening note to demand money from the teller. continue reading »

Man sought for theft one block from 8th Police District 0

Philadelphia Police and the FBI are looking for the man who robbed  a Citizens Bank branch Wednesday just one block from the 8th District headquarters.

The suspect used a handgun to demand cash from a teller at the branch on the 3200-block of Red Lion Road. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Anyone with information about the 30-year-old white male is asked to submit at tip online, call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or text 773847.

The tire slashings in Mayfair aren’t over. After a quiet spell, tires on 10 cars on the 4200-block of Aldine Street were slashed early Monday morning. The slashings began last fall, and thus far, the only arrest has been for what appears to be an isolated incident [CBS3].

Police in the 2nd District are looking for a bank robber who stole cash from the Wells Fargo at 700 block of Adams Ave. Friday. The suspect wore Muslim garb when he handed the teller a threatening note [Philadelphia Police].

A 4-year-old was rushed to the hospital Saturday night after shooting himself in the chest. Authorities say the boy found the gun under his mother’s pillow on the 6200-block of Cardiff Street [CBS3].

Police in the 2nd District are looking for the man who robbed a Burholme bank Thursday. The suspect fled the Citizens Bank at 7248 Rising Sun Ave. after presenting a threatening note to the teller [Philadelphia Police].

Sources within the Philadelphia Fire Department say the dismissal of Deputy Chief  Robert Wilkins is the result of ongoing racial tensions in the department. Initially let go for pleading guilty to – and failing to report to his superior  domestic assault charges, the Rhawnhurst resident is now said to be the scapegoat for Commission Lloyd Ayers’ necessity to prove he will discipline other black firefighters [Philadelphia magazine].

Police in the 15th District are searching for the man who robbed the TD Bank at 6635 Frankford Ave. Monday.

The suspect took off on foot after handing the teller a threatening note around 3 p.m. He is described as white, 40 to 45 years old, 180lbs. and clean-shaven with a reddish, ruddy complexion. He was last seen wearing a black zip-up hoodie. continue reading »
