UPDATE: 10 p.m. Jan. 19 — PGW has released a statement, which you can read in full below.

UPDATE: 8:30 p.m. Jan. 19 — The deceased PGW worker has been identified as 19-year-old Mark Keeley. Workers Keith Henderson, Bill Mahoney and Kevin Summerville remain in the hospital and Gil Vasquez has been released.

UPDATE 10 a.m. Jan 19 — Grey Lodge publican and friend of NEast Philly has provided photos of the aftermath of the 3-alarm fire in Tacony resulting from a gas main explosion on 6900 block of Torresdale Avenue.

Breaking: Police fatally shoot man in Frankford 2

Around 10:15 Thursday, police became involved in a pursuit when they heard gunshots near the 1500-block of Bridge Street in Frankford. They came upon a group of males, one of whom had a gun. Breaking: Six shot in Frankford (UPDATED) 2

UPDATE: Four people were hospitalized, including a 21-year-old male, who was shot in the neck and face. He remains in critical condition at Aria Health-Torresdale, while three others were treated for non-life threatening injuries at Aria Health – Frankford.

West Frankford Town Watch President Mike Mawson called a few minutes ago with breaking news:

Six people were shot at a bar at Bridge and Darrah streets in Frankford. While the conditions of the victims remain unknown, three were transported to Aria Health, and three were taken to Aria Health-Torresdale. There’s no word yet on how the incident unfolded.

Breaking: shooting on 1600-block of Foulkrod 0

This email arrived at 4:04 this morning from West Frankford Town Watch:

“Police are on the scene of a shooting in the Frankford area. 1600 Foulkrod Street is the scene of the shooting. Police have four witnesses who all were taken to Northeast Detectives for questioning. The male was shot once in the left leg and taken to Frankford Torresdale and was listed in stable condition.”

West Frankford Town Watch has just sent the following information over:

Multiple shots fired on the 5200-block of Penn Street in Frankford. Neighbors reported hearing up to 10 shots, and police have so far recovered eight shell casings from what appears to be a 9mm handgun.

Several cars were hit, but it’s unclear if any injuries have been reported or if an arrest has been made.

UPDATED: Pine Valley couple died in murder-suicide 0

UPDATE: The deaths of Robert and Sophia DiAndrea have been ruled a murder-suicide. Sophia died of multiple stab wounds to the chest, while her husband died of self-inflicted wounds to his arms and forearms. Police said is appeared the couple died following a knife fight.

UPDATE – Authorities are trying to determine if this is a murder-suicide or double homicide. There were no signs of a break-in at the home, but police could not reveal whether they had received domestic violence complaints from the home. The Daily News reported the couple had been seeking a divorce.

BREAKING: A husband and wife were found stabbed to death in their Pine Valley home just a few hours ago.

The bodies of Robert and Sophia DiAndrea were found shortly before 6 p.m. in their home on the 100-block of Greycourt Road. Each were in separate bedrooms, and three bloody knives were found at the scene.

Robert, 40, worked for the water department, and 39-year-old Sophia was a teacher. The sons, whoa re in fifth and eight grades at St. Albert the Great School on Welsh Road, were not at home at the time.


UPDATED- Breaking: Shooting near Max Myers Playground 0

gunThough the story is still developing, police have confirmed to NEast Philly that a double shooting occurred around Levick and Sylvester streets near Max Myers playground. As of 4:30 p.m., no fatalities were reported. We will keep you posted as we get more information.

UPDATE: A man in his 30s was shot in the head, and a man in his 20s was shot in the hip. Both were taken to Aria Health-Torresdale, and police are still trying to determine the motive.

There is word of a bomb threat at St. Matt’s on Cottman Ave. in Mayfair.

NEastPhilly.com was told a few minutes ago that a parishoner attempted to buy scrip at the rectory and saw several police cars outside the Catholic grade school.

Police told the parishoner there has been a bomb threat, and all the children are in the church.
