Friday – Police are investigating the circumstances that led to a Wissinoming man being fatally stabbed inside his home. The 50-year-old was found dead around 11:30 Friday night on the 6200-block of Cottage Street. No further details have been released.

Police have recovered the body of Judith Franzen, who went missing from her Wissinoming home Jan. 2.
Franzen, 73, was found dead in her neighbor’s garage — on the same block as her own home on the 6200-block of Cottage Street. Northeast Detectives sought help from the public in locating Franzen, who suffered from diabetes and dementia. The investigation continues, but no foul play is suspected in Franzen’s death.

Police in the 15th District continue their search for 73-year-old Judith Franzen.
The Wissinoming woman was last seen Jan. 2 at her home on the 6200-block of Cottage Street, and suffers from diabetes and dementia. She is 4’9″ and weighs 113 lbs. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a red coat, and has green eyes and brown hair.

Friday – Police have some questions for a man found in Frankford Friday night with firearms and grenades, according to a West Frankford Town Watch alert. Responders arrived on the 1300-block of Harrison Street for a fire alarm call when they found a suspicious man and discovered the weapons. Friday – A man was pronounced dead at Aria Health-Torresdale after his body was dumped from a car near a Tacony cemetery Friday. The 41-year-old may have died of a drug overdose, and was found along the 6400-block of Cottage Street by Magnolia Cemetery around 4 p.m. Police later arrested the driver.
– Police have charged a Somerton chiropractor with with indecently assaulting a 69-year-old female patient. Christopher Walcott, 43, is accused of assaulting the woman during a massage he was giving her at Advanced Wellness Center of Pennsylvania on the 14000-block of Bustleton Avenue. continue reading »

Two men are arrested for running a fencing operation.
One lives at Pearson and Cottage. One lives at Magee and Jackson. The items they stole were recovered at Torresdale and Longshore.
The first address is in Torresdale; the others are in Tacony.

Authorities are looking for more details of an early morning shooting Wednesday in Upper Holmesburg.
According to reports, the man was shot in the chest and arm on the 8800-block of Cottage Street, and was transported to the hospital in unknown condition. An arrest has not been made.

Firefighters took extra precaution early Saturday morning when they were called to battle a blaze in Tacony. Crews arrived on the 7100-block of Cottage Street around 12:30 a.m., where four people were on the roof of a home calling for help. continue reading »

Friday – A Frankford High School student tested positive last week for tuberculosis. A spokesperson for the School District of Philadelphia said both the district and parents of all Frankford High students were notified. Students and staff who spent more than two class periods with the infected student will have to be tested for TB, as well. continue reading »

An 18-year-old died early Sunday morning when the driver of an SUV carrying three people drove into the back of a flatbed truck.
The accident, which happened around 5:30 a.m. on the 4200-block of Torresdale Avenue in Frankford, sent a 24-year-old female and a 17-year-old male to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. They were later released.
Rescuers worked for 45 minutes to free 18-year-old Francis Mole of the 4900-block of Cottage Street, but Mole died of his injuries. Police say no one in the SUV was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
