A big story last week involved Huntingdon Valley’s Valley Swim Club. The Montgomery County private pool is accused of kicking out a group of black campers from Creative Steps Day Camp on Devereaux and Summerdale avenues. The Fox Chase Cancer Center received a $217,906 cancer research grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act yesterday.
Researchers at the facility will use the funding to examine cancer patients’ common symptoms and determine the best medical approach to them. The goal of the study is to educate caregivers about symptom recognition, treatment and the benefits of intervention when multiple symptoms present themselves.

Everyone has battled breast cancer in someway, either with their family members or friends, colleagues at work, neighbors or themselves. Yet there are many women in the NEast who are still unclear about the causes and preventative measures they can take to help ensure their health, as well as the health of their loved ones.
