A Northeast couple will stand trial for the January death of their toddler. Herbert and Catherine Schaible,, 41 and 40, are accused of using prayer rather than medication to treat their 2-year-old son, who suffered from bacterial pneumonia. The couple, who belong to the First Century Gospel Church in Juniata, face charges of involuntary manslaughter, conspiracy and child endangerment.

UPDATE: The school’s auditorium sustained severe damages following Thursday’s fire.
Read the original post...The Fire Department was called to George Washington High School at Bustleton and Veree yesterday around noon. The faculty and students were evacuated, and no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
No other details have been released.

We all worry. It doesn’t matter if our young child is picked up by a van to go spend the morning at daycare, or our teenagers grab the SEPTA bus to be on time at North Catholic, George Washington, or one of the many high schools in Northeast Philadelphia. The worry only increases when they move their belongings to a college, get married and start a family of their own. The parent trap has a hold of you, and there is no way out.
