Police critically wounded the man who tried to rob the Pantry 1 Food Mart and the 7-Eleven early Thursday along the 5300-block of Harbison Avenue. An officer fired when the suspect allegedly pointed a gun [CBS3].

Responders arrived on the 1300-block of Harrison Street for a fire alarm call when they found a suspicious man and discovered the weapons. newsSaturday — A Castor Gardens family escaped uninjured from a home invasion Saturday morning. Three men entered a home on the 1200-block of Fanshawe Street, where the suspects tied the family up and demanded money.

Armed gunman robs Frankford store 0

Gun-iconPolice are looking to the man who robbed a Frankford store at gunpoint early this morning.

Around 1:15 a.m., a masked man entered the Pantry Food Market on the Harbison and Torresdale avenues, and robbed the store at gunpoint. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

It’s unclear if there were injuries, or if the robbery is related to the June 8 robbery of a nearby 7-Eleven, which occurred on the same block at the same time of night.

Mayfair pizzeria hit by car 0

Crash-iconA car slammed into Renzi’s Pizzeria overnight, causing six people to be evacuated from nearby apartments.

The driver of the vehicle lost control just before 2.am. and slammed into Renzi’s on the corner of Battersby Street and Harbison Avenue in Mayfair. Police were able to catch up with the vehicle after fleeing, and took the driver into custody.

Three adults and three children were removed from the neighboring apartments while L&I inspect the damage.

Overnight robbery at Frankford 7-Eleven 0

Gun-iconTwo gunmen robbed a Frankford 7-Eleven early this morning, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to reports, the two armed men walked into the 7-Eleven on the 5200-block of Harbison Avenue around 1 a.m. They announced the holdup, took the money, and ran. No one was injured.

Several injured in Boulevard accident 0

caraccidentA multiple-vehicle car accident on Roosevelt Boulevard sent at least five people to the hospital Wednesday night.

The accident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. in the inner southbound lanes near Harbison Avenue. Early reports said one victim was an adult female, and three are children, but NEast Philly’s attempts to confirm these facts have not been verified.

Serial robber hits Frankford 7-Eleven 0

7-eleven_logoPolice believe the robber who targeted a Frankford 7-Eleven Friday morning is the same man responsible for robbing several other stores in December.

The 7-Eleven on the 5200-block of Harbison Avenue was robbed around 12:45 a.m. Friday, and the description — a white man in his 20s — matches that of a suspect wanted for at least seven 7-Eleven robberies late last year.

Fire at Torresdale and Harbison 0

FireA fire broke out in a tire store early yesterday morning, quickly spreading to four homes.

Firefighters were called to Trinidad Tire Center on the 5300-block of Torresdale Avenue around 3 a.m, but the blaze soon spread to four surrounding homes. The three-alarm fire was out by 5:30 a.m, with more than 40 people now displaced from their homes.
