The holiday season is upon us, which means it’s time for a NEast Philly tradition: our 12 Days of NEastmas holiday song.
This song, which first ran on Nov. 27, 2009, after we felt the Northeast really needed its own carol, has become a tradition.

Mayfair was aglow Sunday for what became the neighborhood’s first-ever Christmas Village.
The event was paired with the annual Christmas tree lighting and other family festivities. Families strolled Frankford Avenue to check out the offerings from local vendors, while kids enjoyed visits from both Santa and the Grinch.

The fourth annual Live Nativity, as in previous years, was held in the parking lot of Lambie Funeral Home, at Rowland Avenue and Rhawn Street this past Saturday.
Families young and old alike came from around the Northeast to pet a live camel, sheep and baby goats and see baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, shepherds and the three wise men. And of course, Santa was there. continue reading »

It might have been the first weekend of December, but Saturday’s Winterfest in Tacony was a full-fledged holiday celebration.
Families packed the Tacony Library Saturday afternoon for crafts, foods, caroling and visits from two very special guests: Santa and the Phillie Phanatic.
