Mention of the T&T bar once again raised eyebrows at the Frankford Civic meeting on Thursday night.
Neighbors have been watching with concern as work has been going on at the now-closed bar at Margaret and Hawthorne streets. It has been not quite a year since young Christopher Spence lost his life there in a senseless shooting.

The futures of two large neighborhood institutions were discussed at Thursday’s Frankford Civic Association meeting.
First, the now vacant Salvation Army building, on Frankford Avenue near Unity Street, is up for sale, recycling residents’ fear over recovery homes that have beleaguered Frankford for years. Second, the latest chapter in the harried sale of the Frankford Y was announced, including a sale date that passed without action.

A man was robbed and shot yesterday afternoon in Frankford, causing him to be rushed to Einstein Hospital.
The victim, a 20-year-old male, was approached by two men on the 1900-block of Margaret Street who robbed him at gunpoint then shot him in the arm. One of the men was wearing a mask. Police are still investigating the shooting while the victim is in stable condition.

A man was shot in the chest early yesterday morning outside a bar in Frankford.
The 29-year-old had left the bar he was in at Torresdale Avenue and Margaret Street, and was returning to it from his car when a second man emerged from the establishment and shot him shortly after midnight. The victim died at the scene, and the suspect fled in the passenger side of a gold car. Neither man has been identified.

The body of a man with two gunshot wounds was found Wednesday morning in Frankford. The victim, a Hispanic male believed to be in his mid-20s, was found in an alley between Margaret and Wilmot streets near Torresdale Avenue – an area neighbors say is a hotspot for drugs and crime.
No arrests have been made.

Geraldine Finnegan left her home on the 1000-block of Foulkrod Street in Northwood at 11 a.m. Saturday. She was walking to pick up her SSI check at Frankford Avenue and Margaret Street in Frankford and hasn’t been seen since, as Action News reported.
Her husband and family members said Finnegan is on medication for bipolar disorder and manic depression, but she doesn’t have it with her.
