Mayfair Town Watch has moved one step closer to its goal of street patrols by finishing up its member training session, with plans to hit the streets this weekend.

Details are few, but it’s been reported that a 14-year-old female student at Mayfair Elementary School was sexually assaulted in a stairwell by a 13-year-old male student. Though the suspect has already been charged, his name has not been release due to his age.

The assault occurred around 1:15 yesterday afternoon as the two eighth graders were on their way back to class from the nurse’s office. Friends of the girl notified a teacher, who then called the police.

The boy has been charged with aggravated indecent assault and related offenses.
