Friday – Police are looking for a Lincoln Town Car involved in a hit-and-run accident that left a 4-year-old boy in the hospital. The driver struck the boy around 8 a.m. as the boy ran out between cars on the 1600-block of Pratt Street while walking with his father. The driver fled the scene in what may be a limo car. Friday – Police raided Lawndale Coin and Collectibles Friday morning, as it’s an apparent front for stolen jewelry and metals. Authorities believe owner Robert Snyder has been receiving stolen goods there, including items from 55 burglaries for which the perpetrator  was arrested in October. FRIDAY — One person died in a Summerdale fire early Friday morning. Crews spent an hour extinguishing the blaze on the 4700-block of Roosevelt Boulevard, and discovered a man’s body inside after the smoke and flames had been put out. continue reading »

The first homicide victim of 2011 is a 24-year-old Northeast resident. Rawl Mitchell of the 1200-block of Longshore Avenue, was one of two people shot while leaving the Felton Supper Club in Feltonville Saturday morning. Mitchell died of his wound, while the female who was shot was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Police are investigating the shooting death of a man who was found dead in his basement Christmas Eve.

Two Tacony men have been found guilty of first degree murder in the 2007 killings of a man and a teenager.
