This is your last chance to take our reader survey, compiled by University of Missouri’s Reynold’s Journalism Institute. So far, RJI has counted just under 50 NEast Philly readers who’ve taken the 10 minutes to give their opinions of the site. Last we checked, we have 150+ subscribers, 500+ Twitter followers and nearly 9,000 Facebook fans. Where are you people?!
Give 10 minutes of your time to tell RJI about your experience with NEast Philly, and help make your news experience better. continue reading »

So far the Reynolds Institute has counted fewer than 20 who’ve taken this survey. C’mon, people! We have 8,000+ Facebook fans, 130+ subscribers and 500+ Twitter followers — help us out. By participating in this survey, you can help us make NEast Philly better, meaning you’ll have a better news source. And we’d like to be able to say we got more readers to take the survey than those Blackhawk fans and their silly Chicago news sites….
A few weeks ago, NEast Philly participated in a survey taken of local editors to determine what works for our particular publications in our particular regions.
The survey, sponsored by the Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri, included questions as basic as: How many readers do you have? and as complex as: What aspects of your site are the most popular?
As simple as those questions may be, the statistical information we gather about our readers is pretty bare-bones compared to what you — the readers — can actually tell us yourselves.
So now it’s your turn. This 10-minute survey includes questions about how you use NEast Philly to get your news. All of the answers are confidential, but we will receive feedback regarding what you had to say.
This is basically where you get to anonymously shower us with love or tell us what a terrible job we’re doing, so live it up. Once we have the answers, we can use them to incorporate your needs and ideas into the site. Something you hate about NEast Philly right now can be fixed in the next couple months — if you fill out the survey.
We’ll be promoting this over the next couple weeks, but the sooner you fill out the survey, the sooner you can skip this article next time you see it pop up on the site.

We’re excited to announce that, as part of our ongoing effort to reach out to individual neighborhoods, NEast Philly will hold a Town Hall meeting at this week’s monthly gathering of the Burholme Civic Association and Burholme Town Watch groups.
We’ll join Burholme residents during their regular monthly meeting, and take the floor to ask residents what they like and don’t like about where they live and what they want to see more of on NEast Philly. continue reading »

Word is spreading quickly, but we wanted to share the news for those who may not have heard: NEast Philly has entered into a partnership with Metro, the city’s free daily newspaper.
Metro recognizes how much relevant news happens in the Northeast, and in order for that news to reach a broader audience, the editors have agreed to run some NEast Philly content on a regular basis. continue reading »

There was a ringer in our midst.
More than 40 people packed the second floor bar of the Grey Lodge on Frankford Avenue between Wissinoming and Mayfair Wednesday night for Northeast Philadelphia-themed Quizzo.
As we told you and then popular entertainment blog uwishunu reminded you, it was our first meetup, a chance to meet and interact with our readers and a partnership with the famed Northeast pub. It went swimmingly.

Tonight’s the night!
We’re sponsoring a Northeast-themed quizzo event at the Grey Lodge Pub, and you should come. Why? Well aside from free quizzo, there will be drink specials, the Grey Lodge’s usual awesome menu and prizes.
If that doesn’t sell you, there’s also the fact that you’ll be able to meet the NEast Philly staff. And if you’re really not convinced, then maybe you should just come check out the kick-ass bathrooms.
So come join us from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and shame your friends with your Northeast Philly knowledge (or let them shame you).
