Northeast Detectives are on the hunt for a suspect wanted in a series of robberies, the most recent of which took place in Holme Circle.

On Jan. 25, the suspect held up the pharmacist at Circle Pharmacy on the 2800-block of Holme Avenue, fleeing the scene with multiple medications. He was last seen around 7 p.m. jumping over the fence at the rear of the property, and is wanted for several other robberies that began Dec. 10. continue reading »

Police find body of missing Wissinoming woman who suffered from dementia 0

Police have recovered the body of Judith Franzen, who went missing from her Wissinoming home Jan. 2.

Franzen, 73, was found dead in her neighbor’s garage — on the same block as her own home on the 6200-block of Cottage Street. Northeast Detectives sought help from the public in locating Franzen, who suffered from diabetes and dementia. The investigation continues, but no foul play is suspected in Franzen’s death.

Police in the 15th District continue their search for 73-year-old Judith Franzen.

The Wissinoming woman was last seen Jan. 2 at her home on the 6200-block of Cottage Street, and suffers from diabetes and dementia. She is 4’9″ and weighs 113 lbs. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a red coat, and has green eyes and brown hair.

Police search for two suspects in 2nd District jewelry store robbery [video] 0

Employees at Belaggio Jewelry Store were frightened but not injured Friday when two suspects entered the store armed and ready to flea with inventory. Police continue their search for the suspects.

Just before 5 p.m., two men were buzzed into the store on Cottman Avenue near Large Street and forced the three employees into the back of the store at gunpoint.

The men fled after stealing from jewelry trays and a safe. Some details are available from an off-duty officer who spotted the pair: Both are black males and they took off in a green Ford Contour with Pennsylvania plates ending in 2204. continue reading »

UPDATED: 10-year-old goes missing 2

maggiezimmermanUPDATED (June 4, 2010 at 12:53 pm) –Maggie Zimmerman was found at the home of a friend around 2 a.m. this morning. Conflicting reports say Maggie was found in Center City and North Philadelphia. NEast Philly is awaiting confirmation on the location, but it appears Zimmerman and a friend left Hellerman Street without informing either child’s parents.

Police are looking for Maggie Zimmerman, a 10-year-old girl who disappeared Wednesday night.

Zimmerman was last seen around 7 p.m. while she was playing outside her home on the 1200-block of Hellerman Street. continue reading »

Reflections on Projections, Art and Love: Two Art Psychotherapists Art will feature original works of various mediums. BREAKING: Bustleton woman’s body found in Burlington County 0

Crime Scene (police line tape)1Police may have identified the woman whose body was found Wednesday in Burlington County, N.J.

Lyudmila Burshteyn, 57, of the 400-block of Larkspur Street in Bustleton, was shot once and dumped in a wooded area in Mansfield Township. Four suspects were arrested yesterday morning, when they were seen driving the victim’s car in South Carolina – just hours after Burshteyn was reported missing to Northeast Detectives.

It is still unclear when Burshteyn was last seen by anyone, and the what the circumstances of her death are.

ELPIDIOAction News has reported a missing 56-year-old man in the Northeast. Although Elpidio Martinez actually resides outside the Northeast, he lives close by and may need your help.

Martinez was last seen Tuesday outside his home at Roosevelt Boulevard and F Street. He is a Hispanic male with a light complexion, is 5’8, 200 pounds, has a muscular build, green eyes, gray hair and is missing his front teeth. Martinez has bipolar disorder, and also has several tattoos.

If you have seen Elpidio Martinez – particularly those of you in Frankford, Lawncrest and other nearby neighborhoods, please call Northeast Detectives at 215-686-3153 or 911.

Northwood woman missing since Saturday 0

Geraldine Finnegan left her home on the 1000-block of Foulkrod Street in Northwood at 11 a.m. Saturday. She was walking to pick up her SSI check at Frankford Avenue and Margaret Street in Frankford and hasn’t been seen since, as Action News reported.

Her husband and family members said Finnegan is on medication for bipolar disorder and manic depression, but she doesn’t have it with her.
