The incident happened at Ashton and Willits roads when the officer was chasing a suspect who is believed to have a connection with the June 27 murder in Northern Liberties’ Piazza at the Schmidt’s. The suspect was eventually caught and taken into custody, and the officer is recovering at Aria’s Torresdale campus from an undisclosed injury.
