A Philadelphia Police officer was injured yesterday in a car accident while pursuing an armed robber.

The officer was chasing the robbery suspect around 3:30 in the afternoon when she reportedly lost control of her cruiser and hit a parked car and a fence near Robbins and Eastwood streets. She was treated at Aria Health-Frankford.

Police car struck in alleged DUI crash 0

Crash-iconAuthorities are investigating the details surrounding a multiple-car crash last night that involved a police car.

According to reports, a driver struck a car around Tyson and Bustleton avenues around 10 p.m., then continued on Tyson Avenue toward Roosevelt Boulevard, where he hit two more cars and a police cruiser.

No injuries were reported, and the driver is in police custody.

The officer was assisting an arrest at Frankford and Torresdale avenues in Frankford shortly before 2 a.m. when his cruiser was struck by another vehicle.

The driver struck a parked car before hitting the cruiser, and faces DUI charges.

newsFriday – A 19-year-old is dead following a shooting in Lawncrest Friday night. The man was shot in the neck and groin just after 8 p.m. on the 5900-block of Rising Sun Avenue. He was pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center. No arrest has been reported.

Motorcyclist involved in police-related crash 0

caraccidentDetails are still unfolding in the Wednesday night crash involving a motorcyclist and two police cruisers.

Reports say police officers came across a motorcycle that fit the description of a reported bike. The driver lost control as police moved in, and crashed into two cruisers at Cottman Avenue and Erdrick Street around 10 p.m.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with a head injury. It has not been disclosed whether the bike is the same one police were initially searching for.

A 15th District police car was involved in a minor accident early yesterday morning.

The officer driving the car slammed into another vehicle around 1 a.m. Monday on the 6400-block of Frankford Avenue near Levick Street.

No serious injuries were reported.

Two police officers were treated for non-life threatening injuries following a car accident yesterday.

The 2nd District officers – one male and one female -were responding to an assist call when their car hit a 2006 Chevy Impala at the intersection of Cottman and Summerdale avenues around 4:30 p.m.

The driver of the Impala was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale, along with the officers, but no serious injuries were reported.
