Friday – Police are looking for a Lincoln Town Car involved in a hit-and-run accident that left a 4-year-old boy in the hospital. The driver struck the boy around 8 a.m. as the boy ran out between cars on the 1600-block of Pratt Street while walking with his father. The driver fled the scene in what may be a limo car. A teenager in Frankford who reported a rape to police yesterday afternoon has recanted her story. The 15-year-old told police she was abducted at knifepoint yesterday outside the McDonald’s at Frankford Avenue and Pratt Street.
She reportedly told authorities that a man and woman abducted her, transported her to a house, raped her and then returned her to the McDonald’s. continue reading »

The shooting that left a 19-year-old in critical condition outside a former adult theater in Frankford brings to light the ever-present battle with irresponsible absentee landlords, says Councilwoman Maria Quiñones-Sánchez.
The reason so many absentee landlords are able to remain derelict in their responsibilities to maintain safe, clean and community-orientated properties, Sanchez said at Tuesday night’s Northwood Civic Association meeting, is because the city doesn’t have the man power to track them down.
“Part of the problem has always been about resources,” Sanchez said last night to nearly twenty residents in the basement of St. James Church at the corner of Castor Avenue and Pratt Street.

Saturday – A shooting in Frankford send a male to Einstein Medical Center early Saturday morning. West Frankford Town Watch reported the man was shot around 1:30 a.m. on the 5100-block of Frankford Avenue behind the Wachovia Bank.
