A 26-year-old woman died earlier this evening after being struck by a train in Tacony.
According to reports, the woman was hit at 7:56 p.m. by the R7 line near Tacony Station. Her body was found, and she was pronounced dead at 8:45 p.m.
There is no word yet on what led to her death.
Activity on the R7 line between Tacony and Trenton has been suspended.

According to a recent poll, Mayor Michael Nutter’s highest approval rating is in the Northeast. The poll, done by Pew’s Philadelphia Research Initiative, has Nutter’s rating at 59 percent in this part of the city, while only 42 percent of North Philadelphians favor Nutter.
