Northeast Detectives are on the hunt for a suspect wanted in a series of robberies, the most recent of which took place in Holme Circle.

On Jan. 25, the suspect held up the pharmacist at Circle Pharmacy on the 2800-block of Holme Avenue, fleeing the scene with multiple medications. He was last seen around 7 p.m. jumping over the fence at the rear of the property, and is wanted for several other robberies that began Dec. 10. continue reading »

Northeast man arrested for South Philadelphia robberies 0

Police have arrested a Northeast man in connection with a series of South Philadelphia robberies.

Poncho Spicer of the 1100-block of Fanshawe Street in Castor Gardens, is charged with robbery and related offenses for stick-ups that took place inside the garage of the Marine Club Condominiums. Spicer, 47, was arrested after the first robbery took place in September but was later released. More robberies took place in December and January.

Spicer will appear in court Feb, 7 and is held on $1.5 million bail.

Police search for two suspects in 2nd District jewelry store robbery [video] 0

Employees at Belaggio Jewelry Store were frightened but not injured Friday when two suspects entered the store armed and ready to flea with inventory. Police continue their search for the suspects.

Just before 5 p.m., two men were buzzed into the store on Cottman Avenue near Large Street and forced the three employees into the back of the store at gunpoint.

The men fled after stealing from jewelry trays and a safe. Some details are available from an off-duty officer who spotted the pair: Both are black males and they took off in a green Ford Contour with Pennsylvania plates ending in 2204. continue reading »

15th District Police look for suspect in spring robbery 0

Police in the 15th District continue to look for the man wanted in connection with an April 7 robbery on the 2800-block of Cottman Avenue.

According to the police report, the man tore a 75-year-old woman’s purse from her arm  after struggling with her to grab the purse. He fled on foot toward Revere Street around 3 p.m. and is still on the loose. The woman’s cash, credit cards, keys and identification cards were in her purse. continue reading »

Police in the 15th District are looking for suspects and more information surrounding two recent incidents.

The first happened June 14 in Wissinoming when a man armed with a knife robbed Lisa & Charlie’s Market at 6017 Torresdale Ave. Authorities are looking for a white male in his 30s, about 5’11″. He was seen in surveillance video wearing a blue T-shirt and three-quarter length blue jeans. He fled on a black bike. continue reading »

Police are looking for the man who crashed his truck into a pizza shop, robber the pizzeria, led police on a chase and crashed in Montgomery County.

About 9 a.m. Saturday, the suspect crashed his pickup truck into Aldo’s Pizzarama on the 10000-block of Bustleton Avenue, where he took the cash register and fled. continue reading »

Police are searching for the man who robbed Upper Holmesburg’s Deluxe Pharmacy last month.

On March 23, the suspect showed a pharmacy employee a handgun and demanded drugs with a note. He fled on foot with Vicodin and Oxycodone. continue reading »

Police arrest man who robbed K-mart with young daughter 0

Police have arrested the man wanted for robbing the jewelry counter of the K-mart off Roosevelt Boulevard between Tyson and Cottman avenues.

Angel Ortiz was arrested yesterday  after police found his car in South Philadelphia. His young daughter, whom he brought with him for the robbery, reportedly told police, “daddy stole the jewelry.”

Two officers were injured, one seriously, during a robbery arrest Tuesday night outside the Bustleton Avenue Target. The suspect fled the Target at Bleigh and Bustleton avenues when employees suspected he was shoplifting. He injured two officers before getting arrested. continue reading »
