Police in the 15th District are looking for the suspects who burglarized a home in Sandyford Park and robbed a 7-Eleven in Holmebsurg.

The burglary happened overnight Monday into Tuesday on the 3000-block of Guilford Street. The residents were asleep in the house when the suspect entered through an unlocked window and left with credit cards, keys and laptops. Around 2 a.m. Tuesday, one of the credit cards was used at the 7-Eleven at 3301 Tyson Ave. in Mayfair. continue reading »

Police arrest man wanted for robbing elderly woman in Bell's Corner 0

Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in the Easter Sunday robbery of a 94-year-old woman in Bell’s Corner.

The woman was on her way home from Bell’s Market when the man crept up behind her on the 8300-block of Loretto Avenue, stealing her purse and knocking her over. She suffered a broken arm and other injuries.

Antonio Santiago of the 2200-block of Kennedy Street was arrested yesterday and charged with robbery and aggravated assault. The crime was captured on surveillance footage, which investigators used to help find the suspect.

Police in the 7th District are looking for the man who robbed an elderly woman on her way home from the supermarket.

The 94-year-old was on the 8300-block of Loretto Avenue Sunday after a trip to nearby Bell’s Market. The suspect can be seen on surveillance video sneaking up behind the woman, knocking her over as he grabs her purse, and then running in the opposite direction. continue reading »

Northeast Detectives are on the hunt for a suspect wanted in a series of robberies, the most recent of which took place in Holme Circle.

On Jan. 25, the suspect held up the pharmacist at Circle Pharmacy on the 2800-block of Holme Avenue, fleeing the scene with multiple medications. He was last seen around 7 p.m. jumping over the fence at the rear of the property, and is wanted for several other robberies that began Dec. 10. continue reading »

Northeast man arrested for South Philadelphia robberies 0

Police have arrested a Northeast man in connection with a series of South Philadelphia robberies.

Poncho Spicer of the 1100-block of Fanshawe Street in Castor Gardens, is charged with robbery and related offenses for stick-ups that took place inside the garage of the Marine Club Condominiums. Spicer, 47, was arrested after the first robbery took place in September but was later released. More robberies took place in December and January.

Spicer will appear in court Feb, 7 and is held on $1.5 million bail.

Police search for two suspects in 2nd District jewelry store robbery [video] 0

Employees at Belaggio Jewelry Store were frightened but not injured Friday when two suspects entered the store armed and ready to flea with inventory. Police continue their search for the suspects.

Just before 5 p.m., two men were buzzed into the store on Cottman Avenue near Large Street and forced the three employees into the back of the store at gunpoint.

The men fled after stealing from jewelry trays and a safe. Some details are available from an off-duty officer who spotted the pair: Both are black males and they took off in a green Ford Contour with Pennsylvania plates ending in 2204. continue reading »
