An elderly woman was hit by a car Wednesday night at Red Lion and Verree roads. The 81-year-old lived just across the street from the accident seen, witnesses said.

The woman, whose identity has not been released yet, was pronounced dead at Aria Health – Torresdale. The driver remained at the scene. No charges have been filed, and it is still unclear how the accident occurred.

Two pedestrians were injured in a late morning car accident in Fox Chase.

It happened when a driver drove a vehicle through a produce stand out front of a store at Oxford Avenue and Verree Road shortly before 11 a.m.

The injured pedestrians were taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. There is no word yet on the driver’s condition, or what caused the accident.
