There’s some argument over Frankford’s northern border. Some say it’s Cheltenham Avenue; others say Bridge Street. Regardless, the shootings that played out this past spring on the 2000-block of Bridge Street were in Frankford.

Frankford will boom soon, according to some.
Among them are State Rep. Tony Payton and Mark Tucker of Tucker Development Plus. They spoke with the Philadelphia Business Journal about the neighborhood’s changes and what could be next for Frankford.
“The Frankford Arsenal employed more than 22,000 people,” reads a line from the PBJ about the neighborhood’s history. The arsenal can’t really be credited for Frankford’s heyday, blamed for its struggles or held as a symbol for its bright future, though. continue reading »

This is a first for Right NEast/Wrong NEast: the same story appearing twice.

But not to be outdone, Action News has gone ahead and made the exact same error — just a few weeks later. In its coverage of the arrest of the man wanted in connection with the robbery, Channel 6 says the crime happened in Torresdale: continue reading »

Q: I am making settlement on my first home in Wissinoming next week and I am worried about a few things. What if the sellers didn’t do the repairs we asked them to do? And what if they did them wrong? Does that mean we won’t settle?
A: If the sellers agreed to repairs in writing, they are responsible for doing those repairs in a workmanship-like manner prior to settlement. Your agent should ask for receipts of the work in advance of settlement to make sure the work was done. You will also be given an opportunity before settlement to inspect the home and make sure repairs were done. continue reading »
