Just as scary as it sounds – date rape. The sad true fact is that everyone always assumes “it will never happen to me.” Being the most common form of rape, date rape surprisingly is not often reported.
One of the large reasons why women remain silent after these atrocious acts is because of fear; the fear of being persecuted, fear of being blamed, fear of losing social standing or family respect. We have heard all the theories behind the idea of why women cheat: lack of intimacy, strained emotional connection, stress and even an escape to reclaim their independence. But is this why women in NEast really cheat on their partners? Whether it is a boyfriend, fiancé or husband, cheating happens all the time.
Many people could understand why a person in duress would venture elsewhere to find gratification, but why would someone who is in a perfectly safe and stable relationship jeopardize everything for moments of passion? Strip clubs and the people who attend their shows have been around since the dawn of time. Some women hate them, while others don’t mind or support their cause. But what do the lovely ladies of our beloved NEast think? On a poll of 20 women from the NEast area, 17 women said they despised strip clubs and the men who venture to them. Of the 17 women, only four felt the stripers were wrong for performing.
“I have nothing against the women that work there, just trying to make a living, or even the single man that goes, but for a married or involved man to willingly go – that’s cheating on his wife or girlfriend,” Melody Boyd said. “There is a place for strip clubs, and they certainly don’t belong in neighborhoods with schools – what kind of example does that set.”
With the countless number of strip clubs in the Northeast, many women have different views on their prominence.
